Yes, my husband is back after being gone 4 weeks while training with his new police dog in North Carolina! (Lovebug made me put an exclamation after this sentence and the title. He is turning into Elaine from that Seinfeld episode when she starts putting exclamations after each sentence). And of course, while he was gone those 4 weeks, anything and everything that could go wrong, did. No big deal though. I just broke out my big girl panties and did what I needed to do. I’m really not that strong as that last sentence sounded. I must confess, I did have a few emotional breakdowns along the way. Thankfully, I have friends and family that were more than generous in helping.
This post will most likely be a recap of what has happened over the last week, so please excuse the randomness and jumpiness. Thank you.
Lovebug renamed his dog Eiko, pronounced “eye koe”, but I still call him Banan. I refuse to call him Eiko. Overall, Banan is doing well. He still has a lot of puppy in him. He is 27 months old and is very goofy. Kimbor, Lovebug’s old K-9, went to a retirement home. That retirement home being Lovebug’s aunt. He is also doing very well and is evidently being spoiled.
In other news, Lovebug officially went to day shift and is working an awesome schedule. Lovebug claims he finds more bad guys at night, but I think he will find just as many during the day! I don’t know what to do having my husband home at night. I’m still trying to wrap my mind around it. Out of the 6 years we have been married, Lovebug has been on night shift approximately all of it. As you can see, I really don’t know what to do having him home. Probably, what it really means is that I will be cooking dinner every night. I think I can handle the trade-off.
On Monday, Evan turned 11 months old. I didn’t post about it mainly because my mind is in overload planning his birthday. In which, I am way behind on. How could that be? Any who, if you need an Evan update here goes:
- He is still crawling. He should be walking any day now. He doesn’t quite have his balance, mainly because of his size.
- His teeth are coming in all at once, and that has been very, very fun. It has made for sleepless nights, crankiness, whininess, clinginess, and my favorite, slithery poos .
- He thinks he is such a big boy and basically refuses to eat any type of baby food. He wants to eat what you are eating. I wouldn’t mind it so much if he wasn’t allergic to eggs, but since he is and eggs are in everything, it makes it just a tad bit difficult. And trying telling “Chunk”, “Sorry honey, but you can’t have this because you are allergic to eggs.” Yeah, it doesn’t go over so well. For some reason he just doesn’t understand.
- Lastly, he is still the cutest thing possible. He loves smiling and showing off his cheesy grin. His hair is still curly and blonde (all the ladies love to run their fingers through it and yes, you may). And he is still the silliest little boy you could ever meet.
