A Night On the Town

That’s right, we had a night on the town! Well, afternoon on the town.

Lovebug took me out and about for our 6th wedding anniversary. I cannot believe it has been six years already…crazy! Our first stop was the nail salon. Lovebug brought up the idea that I go get a manicure and pedicure. I first told him that was very nice gesture of him but I really didn’t have to do that now, here on our anniversary. He kept insisting and basically told me that I didn’t have a say so in the matter. Come to find out, that was his polite way of telling me “Hey, you seriously need to do something with those toes of yours!” And do you think I was offended by his gesture? Of course not. I haven’t had a pedicure and manicure since pre-Evan. You can imagine what my feet looked like. My nail tech broke out all her special tools for my feet. Now that part was a little embarrassing. It almost looked like the scene from Dumb and Dumber when Harry and Lloyd were getting their pedicures.

Then he insisted that I get some new jeans. I got excited about that part because I’ve really been wanting to try on some skinny jeans and jeggings. I see everyone else wearing them and they look cute and I wanted to look cute in them too. Unfortunately for me, it was a disastrous sight. I really don’t have the words to say what I looked like. It was so bad that Lovebug now cringes when I say the word jeggings! So I stuck with my usual boyfriend jeans from American Eagle.

Our evening out felt more like it was my birthday than our anniversary. He kept insisting that I needed this, and this, and that. Ok, I admit it, maybe I have let my self go since having Evan. Thankfully, I have a husband who sent me a wake-up message.

Then we went to one of our favorite restaurants, Olive Garden, and ordered the same thing that we always do. As you can tell, we don’t like to venture out much and try new things. We are both very predictable. It feels like sometimes that we did so much, and went so many places while we were dating, that it’s just nice to be a little predictable these days.

Our crazy and wild night on the town ended at 9:00 pm and we were in bed by 10:00 pm.

Our night was perfect and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I thank God for letting me meet Lovebug 12 years ago!

  1. I remember seeing you guys at church when you were dating. Ya’ll were so cute. I’m very proud of the way you two got your education and stayed faithful to each other. Now you’re reaping the rewards with a beautiful little boy. Marriage is work but it is wonderful and worth every ounce of energy you put into it. Happy Anniversary!

  2. Happy Anniversary!!
Glad y’all had a night out on the town!
I need pictures of the jeggings, please. I bet they were cute!
