N.C Trip Part 2

After climbing up the stairs to Chimney Rock and back down, we headed to Hickory Nut Falls.  The trail to the falls is actually a hiking trail, and I was so thankful for that.  Believe me, I was so done with climbing stairs.

Actually, I take that back.  We did have to climb down these flight of stairs in order to reach the trail.

So we hiked for a couple of miles and finally made it to the falls.  I was a little upset because the waterfall was more like a rain drop.  Just like here in South Carolina, they have been a little rain deprived. (This was last week, not this week. I do know we have had nothing but rain this week.)

Look…Ace Ventura Pet Detective!

By this time we were starving.  Luckily for us, we found a snake we could eat.

I’m only joking. I didn’t take my obsession with Bear Grylls that far.

We actually came prepared and packed our lunches. Tuna fish and crackers, what a delight!

After we ate our lunch by the rain drop waterfall, we headed back to the car. We then left the park and headed over to the stables and went for a horse ride. I get the biggest laugh watching my husband ride a horse.

Sorry the picture is blurry but I was riding on the horse in front of him. The funniest thing is that his horse was a Clydesdale and her name was Rapunzel.

After our long day of hiking and horseback riding, we headed back to my grandparent’s house and crashed.  Man, oh man, was I sore!

We left bright and early Sunday morning. We missed our little buddy and couldn’t wait to see him. Our trip was short but it was a very much needed mini vacation. Although, Lovebug refuses to call it a vacation since we never relaxed.

This is hilarious! I surely thought someone like Dog the Bounty Hunter would be driving this vehicle. I guess it was just his Tennessee equivalent.
